Şirket, küresel olarak tüm kullanıcılarına bahşiş hizmetini açıyor ve ilk kez kullanıcıların Bitcoin ile bahşiş gönderip almasına izin verecek.
Güncellemeyle birlikte, dünyanın dört bir yanındaki Twitter kullanıcıları, Venmo, Cash App veya Bandcamp gibi uygulamalar aracılığıyla birbirlerine para gönderebilecek.
ABD’deki Twitter kullanıcıları ve El Salvador, Bitcoin Lightning Network üzerine kurulu Strike uygulaması aracılığıyla Bitcoin ile ipucu gönderme ve alma seçeneğine sahip olacak. Diğer ülkelerdeki insanlar Bitcoin adresleri aracılığıyla bahşiş alabilecekler.
Bahşiş, bugünden itibaren Twitter’ın tüm iOS kullanıcılarına sunuluyor ve “önümüzdeki haftalarda” Android’de kullanıma sunulacak. Twitter’dan Esther Crawford gazetecilerle yaptığı görüşmede şunlar söyledi:
“Herkesin ödeme alma yollarına erişmesini istiyoruz. Daha fazla insanı ekonomiye katılmaya teşvik eden ve insanların birbirlerine sınırların ötesine para göndermelerine yardımcı olan dijital para birimleri, oraya ulaşmamıza yardımcı oluyor.”
Bu gelişme aynı zamanda Twitter’ın kurucusu Jack Dorsey‘in büyük bir savunucusu olduğu Bitcoin kripto para birimine yönelik ilk büyük hamlesi denilebilir.
Ek olarak Crawford, şirketin, kullanıcıların NFT sanatını profillerinde sergilemelerine olanak sağlayacak bir NFT kimlik doğrulama hizmetini keşfetmenin ilk aşamalarında olduğunu da söyledi.
Twitter daha önce NFT’lere yönelikde denemeler yaptı. Şirket kısa süre önce kendi NFT koleksiyonunu yayınladı ve Dorsey bu yılın başlarında ilk tweet’inin NFT’sini 2,9 milyon dolara sattı.
