1 Milyar Dolarlık Kripto Para Sistemi Hacklendi!
Coinmarketcap verilerine göre 72. sırada bulunan RUNE olarak bilinen ThorChain yeniden hacklendi. Piyasa değeri yaklaşık olarak 1 milyar dolar olan RUNE Token yakın zamanda yine bir hack olayı ile karşı karşıya kalmıştı.
Yaşanan olaydan ötürü proje 8 milyon dolara yakın zarara uğradı. Likidite protokolü olan RUNE herhangi bir telafi seçeneği duyurulmadı.
Saldırıyı gerçekleştiren kişi yada kişilerin Bifrost’u sahte varlık depozitosu almak amacıyla sahte bir akıllı sözleşme tasarlamış. Daha önce bir çok Kripto paranın yaşadığı script saldırısına benzer bir saldırı gerçekleştirildi. Bunun sonucunda sistemden milyonlarca dolar Kripto para çalındı.
Saldırı sonucunda zarara uğrayan kullanıcıların zararının karşılanacağı düşünülüyor. Daha önce yaşanan hack olayından sonra kullanıcıların zararı şirket tarafından karşılanmış ve mağdur edilmemişti.
Saldırı Beyaz Şapkalı Hackerların İşi
Yaşanan olay daha önce yaşanmış hack saldırıları gibi bir saldırısı değil. Hackerlar kendi aralarında Beyaz şapkalı, Gri şapkalı ve Siyah şapkalı hackerlar olarak üçe ayrılır.
Siyah şapkalı hackerlar genelde sistemlere sızdırkları zaman sisteme zarar verip değerli olan herşeyi çalmayı hedefler. Ancak beyaz şapkalı hackerlar sistemin açığını tespit eder ve bu tespiti söz konusu site veya sisteme bildirip ödül talebinde bulunur.
Gerçekleştirilen saldırının da beyaz şapkalı hackerlar tarafından yapıldığı düşünülüyor. Buda çalınan kripto paraların geri iade edilme ihtimali olduğunu doğuruyor. Buna karşılık olarak çalınan miktarın %10 luk kısmı hackerlara verilecek. RUNE yetkilileri böyle bir alışverişi kabul etme taraftarı olduklarını doğruladılar. Saldırı sonucu dayatma ile ödül talebinde bulunan hackerların tam anlamıyla beyaz şapkalı hacker olduğu söylenemezse de Gri şapkalı hacker diyebiliriz.
Saldırıyı gerçekleştiren kişi yada kişilerin sisteme hackerların bir sistemi hackledikleri zaman yaptiklari İndexini eklemiş. İndexte bazı uyarı yazılarının yanı sıra amacının kötü olmadığını, sistemin açığını görmeleri için yaptığını belirten notlar eklemiş. Gücünü göstermek ve ikna edici olmak içinde yaklaşık 8 milyon dolar değerinde Ethereum çaldı.
Olayın gerçekleştiği RUNE resmi Twitter hesabından da yapılan paylaşım ile doğrulandı. Bunun üzerine RUNE fiyatında sert bir düşüş görüldü. Ancak olayın açığa kavuştuğu ve anlaşma taraflı olunduğu için fiyat yeniden kısmi bir yükselişe geçti.
